She served a six-month ban after testing positive for the prohibited stimulant methylhexaneamine at the national championships in Trinidad and Tobago in 2011. She claims she unknowingly ingested the substance in a sports drink. She tested positive for the same substance again in 2012, at the National Collegiate Athletic Association [NCAA] outdoor championships while representing Louisiana State University in the United States of America. She was able to compete at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but was later suspended for two years and four months from 01 January 2013 until 30 April 2015. COLLEGIATE CAREER
She began her collegiate athletics career in the United States of America at Lincoln University, in Jefferson City, MO. After two years she transferred to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. (lsusports.net, 01 Jun 2012)
