SANCTION
In July 2014 he received a backdated suspension of two years from the Jamaica Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel after testing positive for the prohibited substance hydrochlorothiazide [HCTZ] in June 2013 at the national championships in Kingston, Jamaica. He claimed he had unknowingly ingested the substance and appealed to both the Jamaica Anti-Doping Appeals Tribunal and the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] against the decision, but the appeals were dismissed and the suspension was upheld.
