She has trained under coach Svetlana Abramova since age 11. Speaking in 2019, Abramova said their long-term collaboration had evolved to the point where Sidorova is largely independent. "Relationships between a coach and an athlete evolve over time. When Anzhelika was small, I was the teacher and she was my pupil. But as she grew up, the balance shifted and we became equals.
