ALMOST QUITTING THE SPORT
At age 21 he considered giving up javelin after becoming frustrated with injuries. He had suffered problems with his shoulder, elbow and ankle, but after being accepted by the faculty of physical education and sport at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, he decided to begin training again.
