She missed the 2019 outdoor season due to a chronic Achilles tendon injury. She underwent a six-month period of rehabilitation and resumed training in October 2019. (worldathletics.org, 12 Nov 2020)

PERSONAL LOSS
In 2020 her father Mutien passed away after contracting COVID-19. "My dad was very sensitive, caring, and a very helpful person. I was so sad. It was the hardest period of my life. I took almost one or two months with nothing - no sport, only my family. It was a tragic event for me and my family and it was difficult not to give up. But I was lucky. I was surrounded by my closest friends, my family, and I was not alone. After the death of my dad and the long injury [in 2019], now I'd like to be able to live in the moment.
