FAMILY AFFAIR
He has been coached by his father Miroslaw throughout his career. "When I was young I was lucky enough to be able to train with my father, who carefully built me up. We are very similar and Miro simply exudes calm. Before the final [at the 2016 Olympic Games, where he won bronze], I hadn't really gotten one shot and I was already feeling a bit unsettled. But Miro was sitting there in the stands and just said to me 'Today is your day, you do it.' My father drives me in every training. We have been working together for years, he plans my units, torments me with weights and we fine-tune our technique. Every day we invest everything that our mind and body makes available to us in order to achieve the perfect throw at the crucial moment." He says his family is a source of inspiration. "At every competition I find notes and pictures of my children and my wife hidden in my suitcase, which I then take with me to the competition."
