After the 2017 World Championships in London, England, she suffered four injuries in quick succession that kept her out for several months. (sjlmag.com, 14 Apr 2020)

She began running as a child in Israel. "After winning the district cross-country championships, in both fifth and sixth grades, my PE teacher sent me to my hometown's track and field after-school programme, where I basically began my running career. It was not running-specific in the first few years. We worked mainly on general athleticism, but when I started winning national titles at my respective age categories, I started falling in love with it and that's why I am a runner today." She ran her first competitive marathon in 2016 in Ottawa, ON, Canada. (ynet.co.il, 29 May 2016; mendcolorado.com, 15 Aug 2016; undo-ordinary.myshopify.com, 09 Aug 2016)

She was involved in several sports while at school and her parents told her to choose one, so she picked athletics. "I saw I was winning the races in the region, then national. Running kind of chose me." (sjlmag.com, 14 Apr 2020)

TURNING POINT
She says she went through a difficult period after moving to Boulder, CO, United States of America, in 2014, and considered quitting the sport. She rekindled her passion for athletics once she switched from track events to the marathon, which was encouraged by coach Lee Troop. "I wasn't super happy with my job. It put a damper on my happiness in general - and put a dent on my running. [Troop] told me marathon training is intense, but you can go outside and run fartleks or tempos. It could elevate my spirit. I didn't know how it was going to end, but had to do it. It could change my life. At the end of the day, you have to face the challenge yourself." (ordinary.myshopify.com, 09 Aug 2016; nuunlife.com, 09 Aug 2016)

OCCUPATION
She is an account coordinator at a public relations, marketing and consulting agency in Boulder, CO, United States of America. She has also worked as a public relations account executive in Boulder. In Israel she has worked as an administrative assistant for Kfar Saba Municipal Sports Department and as a military teacher for the Israel Defense Forces. She volunteered as an assistant coach for athletics at the University of San Francisco in 2014. (Facebook profile, 26 Apr 2021; LinkedIn profile, 01 Oct 2020)
