He was born in Rome, Italy to parents of Egyptian origins. In 2017 he moved to Camerino, Italy to train and study at the University of Camerino, where he continued to compete for the GS Fiamme Gialle as well as his university team, CUS Camerino. In late 2020 he moved into the GS Fiamme Gialle preparation centre to train ahead of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. "In this period [December 2020] I moved to the Fiamme Gialle preparation centre to acclimatise and have ideal facilities for the work phase that will take us to the first races in [2021] and then the pre-Olympic outdoor season."
