RETIREMENT AND COMEBACK
She stopped competing in artistic swimming in 2014. In February 2020 she was contacted by Laura Strugnell who was in need of an artistic swimming partner for Olympic trials. She came out of retirement, training with her partner throughout the COVID-19 lockdown before competing with Laura for the first time in April 2021. "I think my body was totally confused when I got back into the pool. As soon as we started training in February [2020] there was a hard lockdown, so training has involved several challenges including Zoom [online] ballet, Zoom pilates and relocation across South Africa."
