General Interest

General
Spain return to the Olympic men's team competition at the Olympic Games for the first time since 2012. They won their place at the Tokyo Games with a 11th place finish at the 2019 World Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany. There, they scored 246.727 points to finish ahead of the final qualifier from Germany.

In five appearances at the Olympic Games, Spain have a best finish of ninth recorded in London. It was the closest they have come to reaching an Olympic final.

The 2019 World Championships were a repeat of the edition a year earlier, an 11th place finish, which was their best result since 2011. They have never threatened the podium at the worlds, their best result of sixth coming in 2007.

Spain have come closer to the top-three at the European championships, a fourth-place finish in 2010 their high point. At the 2018 edition, they finished sixth, which was their best result since 2010. Spain did not compete at the COVID-19 pandemic-impacted 2020 European titles.
