SPORTING COMEBACK
Her training was disrupted for two years after she suffered a fractured right middle finger that forced her to withdraw from the 2014 World Championships in Nanning, People's Republic of China. In 2016 she decided to continue her sporting career at the Mukogawa Women's University in Nishinomiya, Japan and she was encouraged to aim for the national team by a coach at university. She finished 55th at the 2018 All Japan Championships and the following year began training with coach Risa Toyoshima, who represented Japan at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. "In 2018 I liked gymnastics but I was afraid to practise. However, after I finished sixth at the 2020 All Japan Championships, the fear was gone. I was happy to be able to do the artistic gymnastics how I had always wanted to do it and I then began thinking about the Olympic Games."
