General
BREAK FROM THE SPORT
In 2007 he stepped away from competitive archery to focus on starting a family and setting up a gym equipment business. He returned to the sport in 2017, and was selected to re-join the Australia national team in 2018. He is due to make his second Olympic appearance at Tokyo 2020, having debuted at the Games in 2004 in Athens. "Archery is something I always said I would come back to. I had a bit of a light bulb moment when I realised I was 31 or 32 and it was my time to have my crack again. It's an amazing feeling to be back at the Olympics. In Athens I was a teenager with nothing to lose and no real responsibilities. Fast forward to today and I'm a dad of two, running my own business, and just at a completely different stage of my life. I'm a lot more focused and efficient with my time now, to juggle training with everything else in my life. Knowing my two kids will be able to see their dad compete at an Olympics is a great motivator." (olympics.com.au, 05 Mar 2020, 10 Nov 2019; worldarchery.org, 16 Jul 2018)

BUSINESS OWNER
In 2004 he set up his own online business supplying fitness equipment in Australia. (olympics.com.au, 10 Nov 2019; LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2019)
