BREAK
Since representing the United States of America at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he has twice taken a break from the sport to focus on his family. He made an unsuccessful return to the sport in an attempt to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and then came back for a second time to qualify for Tokyo 2020. "It's a big commitment, especially with kids and my wife. The reason to stop shooting was just for that reason, so that we could have a break and not have to be having everything revolve around archery. [But] we decided that we could make a big push for [the 2020 Olympic Games]. Some of that [decision was] based on 2016 of knowing, 'OK, how much I was able to push then?' and the level I was able to get to, and knowing the level I was going to need to get to make this [US] team." (toledoblade.com, 30 Jun 2021)

OCCUPATION
He works as an operator at a local water plant near his residence in Fremont, OH, United States of America. (toledoblade.com, 30 Jun 2021)
