General Interest

St. Kitts and Nevis made its Olympic debut at the 1996 Games in Atlanta, sending a team to compete in athletics track events. That trend has continued at each Games, with every athlete from the NOC competing exclusively in athletics sprint events.

The most well-known and successful competitor from St. Kitts and Nevis is Kim Collins. Collins has achieved his NOC's top five results, reaching the final of the 100m twice [finishing sixth in 2004, seventh in 2000] and the 200m once [finishing sixth in 2008]. Collins competed at five editions of the Olympic Games, his first in Atlanta in 1996 as a 20-year-old and his final in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 as a 40-year-old. Despite his advancing age in Brazil, he still managed to reach the men's 100m semifinals, running a 10.12-second time and missing the final.

Collins was one of six athletes who represented the NOC at the Rio 2016 Games.
