General Interest
Palau first competed at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, sending five athletes to compete in three sports.
Weightlifter Valerie Pedro was the first athlete to compete for Palau in 2000 and she also carried the flag into the opening ceremony. Since then, three athletes have competed at two editions of the Olympic Games. Peoria Koshiba competed in the women's 100m sprint at the 2000 and 2008 Games, freestyle wrestler Florian Temengil competed in the men's 120kg category in 2008 and the 125kg category in 2016 and sprinter Rodman Teltull competed in the men's 100m in 2012 and 2016.
At the Rio 2016 Games, five athletes represented Palau in four sports.
