General Interest
Tokyo 2020 is only the Marshall Islands' fourth Olympic Games. The NOC first sent a team to the 2008 Games in Beijing where a five-athlete delegation competed in athletics, swimming and taekwondo.
At the 2016 Games in Rio, Mathlynn Sasser carried the nation's flag at the opening ceremony and became the NOC's first Olympic weightlifter when she competed in the women's 58kg weightlifting event.
