Kiribati first sent a team to an Olympic Games in 2004 and has competed at every edition since. Kiribati's nine Olympians have contested athletics and weightlifting events.
Weightlifter David Katoatau is the NOC's only athlete to have made multiple Olympic appearances. He competed and was flag bearer at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Games.
