Chad has sent two athletes to each of the last five editions of the Games. Each competitor participated in athletics, apart from judoka Carine Ngarlemdana who contested the women's 70kg category at the 2012 Games in London.
High jumper Mahamat Idriss became Chad's first Olympian when he competed at the 1964 Games in Tokyo. The first female athlete to represent Chad was runner Rosalie Baguepeng Gangue, who contested the 800m and 1500m in athletics at the 1992 Games in Barcelona.
Kaltouma Nadjina is Chad's only three-time Olympian. She competed in athletics [200m, 400m] between 1996 and 2004, with her best result coming in Athens where she reached the semifinals of the 400m.
