Team Cambodia - Profile

Highlights: Six athletes represented Cambodia at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro across four sports - swimming, athletics, taekwondo and freestyle wrestling. The contingent included the two oldest competitors the NOC has sent to an Olympic Games. Marathon runner Nary Ly competed in the women's event at age 44 years and 69 days, while Japan-born Hiroshi Neko participated in the men's marathon at age 39 years and 13 days.

Cambodia's first two Olympians, Isoup Ganthy and Saing Pen, both competed in equestrian jumping at the 1956 Olympic Games. Cambodia then sent teams to just two of the next nine editions of the Olympic Games until 1996 in Atlanta. Since then, Cambodian athletes have competed at every Games.

Cambodia's only triple Olympian is swimmer Vitiny Hemthon. She competed in the women's 50m freestyle at the Games in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
