General Interest

Two athletes represented Bhutan at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Lenchu Kunzang contested the women's 10m air rifle in shooting and Karma participated in the women's individual archery event.

Between 1984 and 2008, the only sport Bhutanese athletes competed in at the Olympic Games was archery. Tshering Chhoden was the first Bhutanese archer to win a match at the Olympic Games when she beat 11th seed Lin Sang of the People's Republic of China at the 2004 Games in Athens.

Archer Jubzang is the only Bhutanese athlete to have competed at three Olympic Games. He featured in three consecutive editions of the Games between Barcelona 1992 and Sydney 2000.

Shooter Kunzang Choden became the first Bhutanese athlete to compete in a sport other than archery at the 2012 Games in London when she participated in the women's 10m air rifle.
