General Interest
Belize competed at the Olympic Games in 1968 and 1972 as British Honduras. The NOC began participating in the Games under the name Belize in 1976, and has missed only the 1980 Games in Moscow since that time.
Belize was represented by three athletes at each of the past two editions of the Games. The NOC sent its largest delegation of athletes to the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where there were 11 Belizean competitors.
Distance runner Eugene Muslar is the only athlete to have represented Belize at three Olympic Games. He started out on the track in the 5000m at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles before going on to compete in the marathon in 1988 and 1996.
