General Interest

Antigua and Barbuda first competed at the Olympic Games in 1976. The NOC is yet to win an Olympic medal but has sent a delegation to every edition of the Games since 1984.

Sprinters Heather Samuel and Daniel Bailey share the honour of having made the most Olympic appearances for Antigua and Barbuda. Samuel competed at four consecutive editions of the Games between 1992 and 2004, while Bailey participated in the 100m at the four Olympic Games between 2004 and 2016. He was also flag bearer for Antigua and Barbuda at the opening ceremony of the Games in 2004, 2012 and 2016.

Since 2004, Antigua and Barbuda has competed in only two sports at the Olympic Games - athletics and swimming. The last time the NOC entered an athlete in another sport was at the 2000 Games in Sydney, when sailor Karl James competed in the Laser Open class.

At the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, two teenage swimmers were among Antigua and Barbuda's athlete delegation. At age 17 Noah Mascoll-Gomes competed in the men's 200m freestyle and 16-year-old Samantha Roberts entered the women's 50m freestyle.
