"What appeals to me [about 3x3 basketball] is the freedom to make decisions on the court. It is the combination of that freedom, intelligence and having to act quickly. In 3x3 all players are point guards." (basketball.nl, 16 Sep 2020)

General Interest

General
SWITCH TO 3x3
In 2018 he took part in the 3x3 Pro League in the Netherlands and enjoyed it, but did not yet change his focus from 5-on-5 basketball. "I wasn't ready to make the switch from 5-on-5 to 3x3 then. At the time I thought, 'Nice, but that will come later'." In 2020 he decided to make the switch from 5-on-5 to 3x3, after becoming disillusioned at the Heroes Den Bosch club in the Netherlands. "I was out of place there. It's a shame I didn't manage to play in a different way that allowed me to be efficient within the team. In the years before that, I always had the freedom at my clubs to create something that I am best at. I need rhythm. If I don't get that, it will be difficult to get the engine running. It was not an easy decision. Did I want to leave my great love of 5-on-5 already? I've been a pro for 12 years, since I was 18. But something negative often leads to something positive. You only get this chance once in a lifetime. There is the chance to play at the Olympics in 3x3. That's a dream." (basketball.nl, 16 Sep 2020)

DISC JOCKEY
He DJs under the name 'MARRON', playing techno music. "The name MARRON is based on the runaway slaves of Suriname back in the day. These are the people who resisted slavery. As I'm playing my techno, I want it to be super powerful. Each of my sets has a different story about the history of the Marrons. It's very important to have a storyline. It's everything for me. I'm trying to express myself in a way where I can make this storyline special for everybody." (thequickandthebrave.com, 10 Mar 2021)
