The Chinese women’s team made the A Final at every Olympic Winters Games, except Albertville 1992, after disqualification in the semi-final. One of three teams to win gold, China sits third behind Korea (6) and Canada (1) on the all-time list. They set a world record to go along with gold medal in Vancouver 2010, finishing 2.527 seconds ahead of silver medallists Canada. In their two silver medal performances (1998, 2002), they finished behind Korea and above Canada.
Their four other A Final appearances all resulted in disqualification. In Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018, they finished the final in second, but were later disqualified for impeding.
Won World Championship gold 13 times, only trailing Canada with 16. Finished on the podium at every championship between 1998 and 2009, including four consecutive titles (1998-2001). After winning gold in 2017, the team were disqualified in the semi-finals in 2018, and did not compete in 2019.
Most successful nation at the World Cup, winning the overall title 12 times, thanks to 59 event victories. Finished on the podium 85 times, edging out Korea’s 83, but has 22 more victories than their Asian neighbour. After failing to medal during the 2018/19 season, they recorded two victories and one runner-up during 2019/20, en route to a second overall finish.
Dominated the Asian Winter Games, winning four of seven contests, last winning in 2011. Their only other medal was in 2017, finishing second behind Korea.
