General Interest

HERITAGE
His mother is from Suriname. "I think because I have a very relaxed appearance, I am often cheerful. It partly has to do with the fact that I am half Surinamese. That relaxed feeling is part of it." (nos.nl, 13 Jan 2017)

MUSICAL AMBITIONS
Would like to work as a DJ after his sports career and has produced music since 2002, most recently under the name DJ Diage (pronounced die-eetsj). "Making music is really my hobby. After skating I want to pay more attention to it, maybe also play for a large audience. To see people dance to your music seems very cool to me. A record label wanted to release (my first song) and then I had to come up with a name. Then I took the initials of my name, DH, and if you pronounce it in English you get 'Diage'."
