General Interest

MOVING TO MONTREAL
When she arrived in Montreal to train with the national short track speed skating team in 2018, she had to adapt quickly to a new approach to training. The women's training coach Frederic Blackburn (CAN) said, "Courtney is from New Brunswick and it's a little different there. Courtney is one hell of an athlete and when she was in New Brunswick she only needed to train on the ice. After that, it was over. When you arrive in Montreal, there is work in the video room, nutrition, the need to warm up well. There are a lot of things she had to suddenly learn when she got here. Don't expect someone to come along and learn everything overnight. We're going step by step." (journaldemontreal.com, 10 Jan 2020)

SHORT TRACK SISTERHOOD
As one of the younger members of the national team, she relies on the support from her more senior teammates, including Kasandra Bradette and Kim Boutin. "We all support each other, the kids, but we really appreciate the support from Kim and Kasandra. I ask them a lot of questions and they help us a lot in training. It's good to have big sisters."
