Started skating in August 2008 aged 11 in Chelyabinsk. She went to the zoo with her father and decided to stop off at the local ice rink. At the time, short track coach Nikolai Khvorostukhin (RUS) was recruiting people to his training group and suggested she try out, offering her some old leather skates to try.
