Father Roberto Sighel (Speed skating): Five-time Olympian (1988-02), with six top-10 finishes. Won 1500m bronze at the 1998 World Single Distances Championships. World Allround champion in 1992, after winning silver in 1991 and before adding two bronze medals (1995, 1998). Three-time medallist at the European Championships, with two silver (1998-99) and one bronze (1995). Former world record holder in the big combination and one-hour skating.
Brother Pietro Sighel (Short track): Triple bronze medallist at the 2021 World Championships in the 500m, 1000m and relay. Overall silver medallist at the 2021 European Championship, after winning silver in the 500m and relay. Two World cup podium finishes, both during the 2021/22 season, in the relay (Beijing) and 1000m (Dordrecht).
