General Interest

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Will make their Olympic debut at Beijing 2022.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Competing in the lower divisions since 1999, Czech Republic earned promotion to the top flight in 2015 when they went through Division I undefeated, outscoring their opponents 20-4. Since then, they have reached the quarterfinals on three occasions, including losing the fifth-place game to Sweden in 2016, their first year in the top division.

Went through undefeated in Pool B at the 2021 World Championship in Calgary, conceding only three goals. However, they lost 1-0 to Finland in the quarterfinals and 3-2 to Japan in the placement games to finish seventh.

QUALIFICATION
Finished undefeated in group C at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Chomutov. After a 3-1 win against Norway, the Czechs backed it up with a 16-0 demolition of Poland, as only three players failed to register a point, with Katerina Mrazova scoring six, Noemi Neubauerova netting a hat-trick and Aneta Tejralova having five assists. Needing a win against Hungary in the final match, Klara Hymlarova (CZE) opened the scoring within 90 seconds, as Czech Republic piled on another four goals to comfortably secure qualification for their first Olympic tournament.
