EARLY LIFE AND FAMILY
Both parents born in Canada, both grandfathers were immigrants from China. Paternal grandmother was of Irish descent. Grew up in Maple Ridge, BC and graduated from Maple Ridge Secondary School in 2003. Played junior hockey locally for the Ridge Meadows Flames and Coquitlam Express before attending Boston University.

STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS
Most NHL games played (174), goals (58) and points (112) of all other players on the CHN men's ice hockey team, over a career spanning 2009 to 2014 with three teams. First player in Kunlun Red Star (KHL) history to reach 100 points.
