FAMILY
Son of Chinese actor Ying Da, who won the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Louie Wang in Big Shot's Funeral (2001). His paternal-grandfather, Ying Ruocheng, was also an actor and Vice-Minister of Culture from 1986-90. Milestones

Became the first Chinese-born player to play in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), after signing with Kunlun Red Star in August 2016. He also became the first Chinese player to score a KHL goal in February 2019 in a game against Admiral Vladivostok.

Played second division hockey in the Russian Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga (VHL), scoring two goals in his first season with KRS Heilongjiang (2017/18). The following season, he doubled his goal total with KRS-ORG Beijing, but added an additional 16 assists.

Gold medallist at the 2017 World Championship Division IIB, earning promotion to Division IIA.

Back-to-back U20 World Championship Division III silver medallist (2017-18). As captain in 2017, he was named the tournament's best forward, scoring the most goals (nine), assists (10) and points (19). The following year he scored 14 points (eight goals, six assists).
