Sister Sarah Johnston (Ice hockey): Played for Cornell University from 2004 to 2008.

Sister Katie Johnston (Ice hockey/Football): Has played both sports at Harvard University.

Brother Ryan Johnston (Ice hockey): Played 10 games with the Montreal Canadiens from 2015 to 2017.

Brother Jacob Johnston (Ice hockey): Played four seasons for Dalhousie University, followed by five years as a professional in the USA, Scotland and Denmark.

Brother Steven Johnston (Ice hockey): Played four season with Dalhousie University, followed by one season (2018/19) in Macau.

Uncle Mike Johnston (Ice hockey): Coached the Canadian national team at the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games.

Athletics: Competed in athletics while at Cornell on national level. Placed third at age 16 in Canadian Junior track and field championships in 400m.

2012 World Championships

August 2020: Achilles tendon injury that required surgery.

2015/16: Hip issues caused her to miss most of the season. Underwent therapy to strengthen her hypermobile ligaments. Returned in March 2016 to play in the Clarkson Cup.

Followed her siblings into the sport at the age of four.
