Larocque is of Metis descent and was named Manitoba's Indigenous Female Athlete of the Decade in 2021. "I feel extremely proud and I feel extremely just privileged that I can be a role model to really anybody that just has a dream and that can see that working hard can lead to you achieving your dreams. If I can just help one young kid believe in themselves, then yeah it’s pretty neat." In 2018, she received the Tom Longboat Award, a national honour for Aboriginal excellence in sport.
