Teamed up in spring 2013 and competed at Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, after competing in their very first international competition at the Olympic qualifying event, the Nebelhorn Trophy.
Competed at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Participated in seven world championships, making their debut 2014 and have a best result of 10th (2019). Ranked 11th in 2021.
Seven-time Austrian pairs champions (2014-2016, 2018, 2020-2022) and have five top-10 finishes at the European championships.
Withdrew from the 2022 European Championships, as he broke the navicular bone in his left hand in a fall in their first practice session. He underwent surgery and resumed training end of January. (kurier.at, 22 Jan 2022)

Ziegler: Competed in singles until 2012 (two-time national champion and competed at Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games).
Kiefer: Competed in singles and is a three-time national bronze medallist (2012–14).

Kiefer: Stina Martini (Austrian pairs champions 2011-2013, competed at the European and world championships).
FIRST IN 38 YEARS
Ziegler/Kiefer became the first pair skaters to represent Austria at the Olympic Winter Games in 38 years when they competed in Sochi in 2014. Ursula and Michael Nemec were the last Austrian pair to compete - at the 1976 Innsbruck Olympic Winter Games.
COACHING SISTER
Kiefer's older sister Julia is part of their coaching team.
COACH
Coach Knut Schubert competed for East Germany in pair skating and is the 1983 and 1984 European bronze medalist with partner Birgit Lorenz. They competed at the Sarajevo 1984 Olympic Winter Games, finishing 5th.
DEATH OF THEIR COACH
The death of coach Jean-Francois Ballester (FRA) in December 2018 came as a shock to them and they withdrew from the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2019 after the short programme citing emotional stress. (Pirouette Magazine, Feb 2019)
