COMEBACK KIDS
She and Han Cong have come back strong multiple times from various injuries. Most recently, they had trained only for two months on ice before the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, but took the silver medal.

LOYAL PARTNER
She has been skating with Han Cong since 2007, her entire pair skating career.

COMMITTED TO SKATING
She insisted on continuing to skate although her mother wanted her to focus on school. "When I caught a cold or got a fever, she would simply say, 'Just stop skating.' (...) At that time, my rink was a two-hour walk from my home, almost one hour by car. One day during winter vacation, I did not do my homework. I thought I could do it the next day since it was a vacation anyway, but my mum did not approve and came up with an idea. She told me to walk there if I still wanted to skate. It was such a cold winter day. But I walked there anyway. It took me more than two hours, and when I arrived, the training session was already finished. My mum said, 'Alright, you cannot skate now, let's go back.' We went home by car, but she said, 'No sitting, just stand.' But I did not say no, and I continued to skate the next day. OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Han Cong and Sui entered PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games as the reigning World pair champions, and had a flawless skate to k.d. lang’s version of “Hallelujah." They had a few mistakes in the free program and won the silver medal, the first Olympic medal in pairs skating for China since their, Zhao Hongbo, won gold in Vancouver 2010 (with Shen Xue).
