Mid 2017: Suffered from a hernia which affected her performance the entire 2017/18 season, including when she won gold at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. She declined all medication and finally underwent surgery in the spring of 2018. “I just didn’t take anything. And I had to really limit what I was doing because it was pretty painful.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)
“I was on the ice before I could walk. But I do remember playing in my first family fun bonspiel, at four years old. I would put one foot in each hack, both hands on the rock and push out and that’s how I delivered the rocks for a couple of years until I was big enough.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)
“I tried as many different sports and activities as I could, but I was always drawn back to curling. Honestly, I don’t know what reason. I just wanted to play more and I wanted to see how I could get better.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)
Win gold at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

Winning the 2013 Canadian Olympic Trials in Winnipeg.
“Growing up in Winnipeg, the Jennifer Jones team, that was the team that we watched. I know they don’t love me saying that, because of the age difference, but when I was in juniors they had just started their run in 2005, and it was very inspiring to watch. To be honest it’s pretty amazing I was able to join up with their team.” (Athlete, 29 Dec2021)
“In a lot of ways it’s my teammates, because I spend so much time with them. I’m inspired by them and they challenge me to be a better teammate and person off the ice.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)
“Enjoy the moments. Enjoy the journey and the process. That’s the most important thing.” (Athlete, 29 December 2021)
Two murals of her are on the walls of the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg.
