Started in Glarus in 1992. He and his classmates were urged to try it by the “Mr. Curling” of Glarus, Gabriel Spaelty, grandfather of 2006 Olympic silver medallist Valeria Spaelty (SUI).

Enjoys the fun and camaraderie. He is a regular participant in Open Air curling, played outdoors. Prior to Beijing 2022 he played in three Open Air tournaments in Samedan, Zermatt and Silvaplana. “I did this also before PyeongChang and it really helped me loosen up.” (Athlete, 3 Jan 2022)

On-ice with his teammate three days per week, two hours per day. There are additional individual ice sessions and off-ice workouts.

Winning mixed doubles silver at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. “It was because of all that happened, the experiences we could make. We got to meet so many people from other sports. For me that was probably more important than the medal.” (Athlete, 3 Jan 2022)

Growing up it was Brazilian F1 race driver Ayrton Senna and Spanish football star Raul. Recently, two-time Olympic champion tennis player Rafael Nadal (ESP).
