Father Hammy McMillan (Curling): Three-time Olympian (1988, 1992, 2002), with the best finish of fifth at Albertville 1992. For Scotland, he won the 1999 World Championship and five European titles.

Sister Megan McMillian (Curling, Lacrosse): Competed at two Scottish Curling Championships. Played U19 lacrosse for Dumbarton.
