Uncle Norman Brown (Curling): Salt Lake 2002 British Olympian, finishing seventh. Three-time World Championship medallist with Scotland, winning silver (1992) and two bronze medals (1997, 2002). Four-time European champion, including winning three consecutive titles from 1994-96.

Cousin Abi Brown (Curling): Back-to-back World Junior Championship medallist with Scotland, winning gold (2012) and silver (2013, with Dodds). Finished fourth at the 2013 Winter Universiade with Dodds.

Trains on ice twice a day, five days per week with physical preparation training three to five times per week. Each session ranges from one to two hours in length. The mixed doubles team held a dedicated training camp prior to Beijing aimed at refining technical and tactical skills.
