A new friend took her to try the sport at age eight. “The moment I started playing curling, a spark ignited. I began to get more and more passionate, and slowly I began to let go of all other activities to be able to devote myself totally to this sport.” (franoi.com, 8 Jan 2022)

:

“I prefer a team sport more than individual sports. I think it’s interesting because it’s not just physical, it’s also mental, you must focus on every moment. Another part is that curling is not so controlled by umpires, there is fair play.” (Athlete, 7 Jan 2022)

:

“I think in mixed doubles the difference between the strongest teams and the less strong teams is not so big, as in women’s and men’s. I know that I play with a very strong player. Amos is one of the best international athletes in curling, and I am very happy to have this opportunity with him and I really want to do something with him.” (Athlete, 7 Jan 2022)

General Interest

POSITIONAL MOVING
Moved from second stones in 2017 to skip for the 2020/21 season. “It was my first season as a skip and that was important because playing skip is really different, you have more responsibilities and you have to lead the team. It’s a big change, and I think I grew up as a skip and my team grew with me.” (Athlete, 7 Jan 2022)

YOUTH
Graduated high school in 2018 at the Istituto Tecnico Economico.

STARS IN CANADA
Competing at the 2018 World Championship in Canada was a revelation. “The stadium was always full of people and, at the end of each game, the fans were constantly asking us for autographs and photos, making us feel like stars. It was a strange but, at the same time, wonderful feeling. I would very much like curling to be re-evaluated and respected in Italy in the future.” (franoi.com, 8 Jan 2022)
STORYTELLER

Wrote a guest column for Eurosport, published the week before the Games. “I still remember that one afternoon, during a training session, my coach asked me: ‘but what is your goal?’ And I, without even thinking about it, replied: ‘the Olympics.’ There I realized for the first time how much I really care. So I built myself as a person and as an athlete, piece by piece, with curling as my companion, fuelling my passion along the way.” (eurosport.it, 25 Jan 2022)
