Though his father was a curler, he didn’t try the sport until a teacher took him and fellow students to the Chisholm Curling Club in March 1996. The following year he began playing in leagues and bonspiels. (Athlete, 3 Dec 2021)

Trains alone on the ice for an hour per day, up to six days per week. Works out alone in a gym three to five days each week. Team practices are arranged for roughly one day per week.
