Father Seppo Geving (Ice Hockey): Lost three US Senior Championship finals. Played collegiate hockey for Dartmouth College from 1969-70.

With all her family being curlers, her father forced her to try curling at age 10, but she cried as she didn’t want to play an “old person’s sport.” By the end of the session she was crying because she didn't want to leave.

Win an Olympic medal at Beijing 2022, providing inspiration for her daughter.

Practices four to five times a week. Owns a home gymnasium for off-ice workouts.

Tennis player Serena Williams (USA), four-time Olympic gold medallist, with 23 career Grand Slam singles titles. “I loved her documentary on HBO about having a child and getting back to sport, and it mirrored so much of what I felt coming back to sport after having a child. Her father Seppo, who has coached her all her life. He pushed her into curling and she also followed him into the insurance business.
