:

2018 World Mixed Championship in Kelowna vs. Brazil (9-1 Win)
2018 European Championships in Tallinn vs. Austria (10-9 Win)

:

2020: Broke his right thumb, requiring laparoscopic surgery. Resulted in arthritis in the thumb joint, and he can experience discomfort when brushing. He tapes his thumb during games. “I found out at the Olympic qualifier that if I’m high enough on adrenaline, I don’t need tape.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

Suffered discomfort in his left knee since age 16. An MRI scan in 2020 revealed Plica Synonvialis Syndrome, which he controls through physiotherapy.

:

Enjoyed watching curling at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games and tried it at Hvidovre Curling Club. Within three weeks a team asked him to join them for the Danish Junior Championships, where they won bronze. A few years later, he was the skip of the team at the 2011 World Junior Championships.

:

“I like the tactical aspect as well as the physical aspect of sweeping, that’s why I enjoy my position of third and vice-skip. I also got loads of friends within the first few years of curling, I still talk to them to this day.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

:

Trains on-ice with his team three days per week totalling four to five hours per week, and spends a similar period of time in off-ice workouts.

:

Securing Denmark's berth at Beijing 2022, at the 2021 Olympic Qualification Event.

:

Canadian skip (and men’s coach in Beijing) Jeff Stoughton, who throws the stone with a “tuck delivery” which originates in Manitoba. “A lot of people think that’s why I’m tuck sliding, but that’s not why. It’s actually because of my knee injury. I couldn’t slide regularly without knee pain, so I tried tuck sliding.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

:

Junior coaches, Carsten Blom (DEN) and Brad Kuhn (CAN).

:

“We’re all very superstitious. I always play in ski underwear, under my pants. I’ve been doing that since I was 16. I think one of the pairs I have is from that age. I wore the same pair for every Olympic qualifying game.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

:

"Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them." - Williams Shakespeare

“So for me, this means I have to achieve greatness, I wasn’t born with it, I have to work for it myself. I have it in a tattoo.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

General Interest

LONG ROAD
Is the only member of the men’s team that played in the 2018 European C-Group, eventually winning that title, then winning the B-Group gold, and finishing fourth at the 2019 European Championships. “All the odds were against us. Nobody counted on us, not even back home. They thought we’d go back down to the B-Group, so we were pretty proud of our performance.” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

MOUTH DRUMMING
He placed fifth twice at the Danish beatboxing championships (2015, 2016) and has been known to drop a few beats on the ice during games. “It’s good to get your focus off the curling sometimes because it can get too much. I think you see sometimes at the big events that teams have been practising too much, and they run out of energy or love for the sport. Your other pursuit doesn’t have to be close to what you already do. It can be totally different. A creative outlet.” (worldcurling.org, 7 Apr 2021).

CORN FASHION
Has three different corn brooms he uses as throwing devices, each with coloured tape to match his team uniform colours of red, white or black. He also wears colour coordinated gloves.

BEIJING SHIRT SWAP?
Met his hero Jeff Stoughton at the 2021 World Championship, who posed for a brief photo. “I’m hoping he will trade a shirt with me this time (Beijing 2022).” (Athlete, 29 Dec 2021)

POST-CAREER PLANS
Wants to be a physical trainer and coach in elite Danish sport when his curling career is over.
