General Interest

DELAYED MEDAL
After losing to Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) in the bronze medal match at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, the OAR team was later disqualified for doping and Norway was awarded bronze. The pair flew to the Republic of Korea to participate in a medal ceremony, which she found surreal. “I had been back at work for three days when I got an email with plane tickets. I sent my boss a text message telling him, 'I’ve got first-class tickets to South Korea, I’ll be back by Tuesday'. It is much better coming here than having (the medal) sent by post months later, though I would have accepted it and picked it up in the mailbox.” (france24.com, 24 Feb 2018)

CURLING COMMITMENT
Left her operations analyst job of 10 years in June 2021 to focus on preparing for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

RELATIONSHIP
Married to her mixed doubles partner Magnus Nedregotten (NOR). Right after a game they have what they call a “hot wash” discussion where emotions are released. They let this go for about half an hour, find a kind of objective distance, and then have a calmer conversation. “Being married off the ice and partners on the ice can be both an advantage and challenging at the same time, but I think we have found a way that works pretty good for us. It’s not to be mean to each other. We are extreme competitive people, and it’s only a spontaneous reaction at the moment.” (worldcurling.org, 4 Jan 2022, aftenposten.no, 13 Jan 2022)

BEIJING OPPONENTS
“The mixed doubles field in Beijing is really strong, and there will be no easy games. If I have to pick some (of our toughest opponents in Beijing) I would say Sweden, Scotland, Canada, Italy and Switzerland.” (worldcurling.org, 4 January 2022)
