October 2021: Slipped disc. Struggling to be healthy in time for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Started curling in February 1998 at Hvidovre CC where her parents played. She was inspired by Denmark's women winning silver at the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games. (nbcolympics.com, Jan 2018)
“There’s so many different things that you underestimate when you don’t know the game. You just think it’s easy and it’s bowling. It’s not like racing where the best car wins. There’s a lot going on.” (Athlete, 4 Jan 2022)
“It’s not as much about winning or losing anymore. That’s not the only criteria for success. I really want to look back when I’m old and say ‘Wow, what a curling life.’ Your perspective really changes with age, doesn’t it?” (Athlete, 4 Jan 2022)
The team practices on ice together four times per week. Off-ice workouts take place individually according to each athlete’s work schedule.
Winning silver at the 2007 World Championship in Aomori. “That was a big deal to me, just realising we were good enough to challenge at that level. I never thought we would be up there. It’s one of those things, mostly the semi-final, that I remember very clearly.” (Athlete, 4 Jan 2022)
Her husband, Jesper. “He’s so positive that the other day I had to tell him to stop being so positive. When you meet a person like that, you’re almost forced to be a better person, and be more like him.” (Athlete, 4 Jan 2022)
