OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
The National Olympic Committee of Thailand was formed in June 1948 and recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in May 1950. Competing in the Olympic Games since 1952, Thailand has missed only the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games.

Thailand has competed at four Olympic Winter Games with seven Winter Olympians (four men, three women) in Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing, with a best finish of 57th by cross-country skier Mark Chanluong in the PyeongChang 2018 men's individual sprint.

The nation has won 35 Olympic medals (10 gold, eight silver, and 17 bronze). Famous for its Thai boxing, Thai boxers have won 15 medals, while in recent Olympic Games, female weightlifters have won 14 medals, including five gold, and female taekwondo practitioners have also won five medals.

Its most successful athletes have been boxer Manus Boonjumnong who won gold in 2004 and silver in 2008 in light welterweight, and female taekwondoka Panipak Wongpattanakit, who won gold as a flyweight in 2020 after a bronze in that class in 2016.
