Madagascar was represented by one athlete, Mialitiana Clerc, who competed in Alpine skiing finishing 47th in women's slalom and 48th in giant slalom. This was Madagascar's second appearance at the Olympic Winter Games after Torino 2006.

OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
Madagascar formed a National Olympic Committee (NOC) in December 1963 which was ratified by the government in August 1964 and recognised by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in June of that year. Madagascar made its Olympic debut in the same year and since has only missed the Olympic Games at Montreal 1976 and Seoul 1988.

Madagascar has had two Winter Olympians who competed at the Torino 2006 and the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, both in Alpine skiing. At Torino 2006 Mathieu Razanakolona finished 39th in the men's giant slalom and did not finish the slalom event. In 2018 Mialitiana Clerc finished 47th in the slalom and 48th in the giant slalom.

No Madagascan athlete has won an Olympic medal. Its top athlete has been the sprinter Jean-Louis Ravelomanantsoa, who finished eighth in the 100m at Mexico City 1968, the country's best finish ever.
