OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
Israel competed at its first Olympic Games at Helsinki 1952, the same year in which its NOC was formally recognised by the IOC, and since has only missed the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games.

Israel made its Olympic Winter Games debut at Lillehammer 1994 and has been represented by 20 Winter Olympians (12 men, eight women), who have competed in Alpine skiing, figure skating, short track speed skating, and skeleton.

Yet to win a Winter Olympic medal, Israel has had three top-10 finishes, all in figure skating. Ice dancers Galit Chait and Sergey Sakhnovsky finished sixth at Salt Lake City 2002 and eighth at Torino 2006, while the Israeli team finished eighth at the PyeongChang 2018 team event.

Israel has won 13 medals at the Olympic Games, with six in judo (including its first two in 1992), three in sailing, and one each in artistic gymnastics, sprint canoe, rhythmic gymnastics and taekwondo.

Sailor Gal Fridman won two medals, including windsurfing gold at Athens 2004. Or Sasson won two medals in judo, with a pair of bronzes from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
