OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
Ghana made its Olympic Winter Games debut at Vancouver 2010, being represented by Alpine skier Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong, known as "The Snow Leopard". Ghana again competed at PyeongChang 2018 with Akwasi Frimpong finishing 30th in men's skeleton.
Ghana first appeared at the Helsinki 1952 Olympic Games under its colonial name, Gold Coast. It did not attend the Melbourne 1956 Olympic Games but competed from 1960 through to 1972 under that name. After boycotting the 1976 and 1980 Olympic Games, Ghana has attended the Olympic Games from 1984 through to 2020.
Ghanaian athletes have won five medals at the Olympic Games: four in boxing, and a bronze in the 1992 men's football.
