Represented by one male athlete, Klaus Jungbluth, who competed in cross-country skiing. Jungbluth competed in only one event, the freestyle 15km, in which he finished 112th. This was Ecuador's first appearance at the Olympic Winter Games.

OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
The Ecuadorean National Olympic Committee (NOC) was created in April 1959, after having previously sent three track and field athletes to the Paris 1924 Olympic Games. It made its Olympic return at Mexico City 1968 and has competed continuously since.

Ecuador appeared at the Olympic Winter Games for the first time PyeongChang 2018 with a single athlete, cross-country skier Klaus Jungbluth who competed in the 15km freestyle event.

Alpine skier Sarah Escobar, who is yet to make her World Cup debut, qualified for Beijing 2022. She previously competed at the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games but did not finish her two races.

It has won five medals at the Olympic Games. Jefferson Perez won gold in the Atlanta 1996 20km race walk and returned to win silver in the same event at Beijing 2008 - 12 years later.

At Tokyo 2020, Ecuador won three medals. Richard Carapaz won the men's cycling road race, and two Ecuadorian weightlifters won medals, with Neisi Dajomes taking gold (women's 76kg), and Tamara Salazar winning silver (women's 87kg).
